Association

AVRBC was incorporated in British Columbia as a society in 1975.  As a professioinal association, AVRBC's ongoing goal is to ensure that members have access to information that will not only enhance their ability to manage or coordinate volunteers effectively, but will also promote the importance of the profession as a whole to both employers and to the community.

Ten regions are represented within British Columbia.  For news, workshops or meetings happening in your region, please go to the regional page for your area.  Regions are listed on the left side of this website.

The strength of AVRBC relies on the strength of its membership.  Currently there are over 130 members representing a broad spectrum of community and health organizations throughout the Province. Check out the benefits of membership with AVRBC.

History and Past Presidents Council

AVRBC was previously known as WADV or Western Association of Directors of Volunteers. AVRBC values its history and recognizes that the Past Presidents are available individually and as a resource group to the Executive, whenever an historical perspective would be useful.
