Professional Development

AVRBC encourages lifelong learning and growth for individuals involved with the administration of volunteer resources.

Because of the absence of formal certificate programs in British Columbia, it is vital that as professionals we seek new and creative ways to continue our development. Accordingly, the AVRBC Professional Development Committee will explore the many avenues available to us for developing the skills and knowledge needed in our challenging work with volunteers. Along with identifying learning resources with other organizations, we intend to create ways in which we can learn and share together.

A Professional Development Standard has been set by the association as a recommendation for all members.

Check out AVRBC's professional Standards of Practice.

Workshops play a pivotal role for networking, information sharing, and relationship building. For more information about AVRBC activity in your region, please contact your nearest Regional Representative or see our Events Calendar. AVRBC members are encouraged to attend workshops outside of their own region.
