A recent article by Susan Ellis, entitled, “Part Time Volunteer Management means equally limited volunteer involvement,” addresses the topic of part-time volunteer management, the employer mentality around that and the unfortunate results. When budgets are cut, volunteer management can look like an easy area to slice as, gee, “we have the volunteers already.” There can be a dismissive attitude towards both volunteer managers and the volunteers.
