What's New > Be part of the next AVRBC Speaker Series by Daniel Cayer, posted on 3:41 PM, November 18, 2011
Hello AVRBC Members, We are looking for AVRBC members (like YOU!) to share their knowledge and expertise as a presenter for an upcoming speaker series workshop. What is the AVRBC Speaker Series? The AVRBC Speaker Series began as a partnership between Community Volunteer Connections (CVC) and AVRBC. AVRBC members agreed to present a series of workshops related to volunteer management and CVC organized the logistics such as space, equipment, marketing and registration. Members of both organizations could attend these workshops for free and non-members paid a small fee. **See the brochure of last year’s speaker series workshops for your reference.** The first round was a resounding success so CVC is running a second series (see the 2011-12 brochure for more info). We also plan to expand the Speaker Series to two other regions in the Lower Mainland in early 2012 and to the Island and/ or other regions in fall 2012. (Details coming soon…) To do so, we are inviting more AVRBC members to step forward and present a two-hour workshop on a topic of their choosing. Presenter will receive a small honorarium ($100), plus travel costs for distances beyond 50km. Who can apply to present? Any AVRBC member can apply to present…you don’t need to have decades of experience in the field, you simply have to have a strength in a particular area (e.g. recruitment), a new approach, lessons learned, or success stories to share. You might even have expertise in a field related to our work that would benefit others such as marketing, graphic design, fundraising etc. We are interested in the ideas you will bring to the table! How can I sign up? Simply complete the form and send to Lindsay Baker, Vice President, at by December 5. Please note: we may also use this information to contact you about presenting at future regional meetings, AGMs and conferences. If you have any questions, or want to suggest another member as a speaker, please contact me at the information below. Thanks!
