AVRBC is pleased to announce the election/appointment of three new board members. Kathryn Baird joins the Board as Director, Internal Communications. Kathryn is the Special Events and Volunteer Coordinator for the District of Maple Ridge and has had considerable experience working in the volunteer management field. As Director of Internal Communications Kathryn's AVRBC portfolio includes facilitating committee work aimed at maintaining the AVRBC website, preparing the E-Newz weekly digest and researching technology that may be useful to AVRBC.] Maureen McKay has been appointed the Director, Regional Representation. Maureen has recently accepted a new job as Coordinator, Volunteer Resources at Royal Columbian Hospital. and has an eclectic bouquet of experience working with volunteers in small not-for-profit setting in woman services, seniors, retail and addictions.As Director, Regional Representation, Maureen's role will be to work closely with Regional Representatives across the Province to provide local connections for AVRBC members. April McNeil, joins the Board as Director, External Communications. April currently works in Student Services' at the University of Victoria coordinating orientation and transition programs, volunteers and assessment projects. In her position with the AVRBC Board, April will support ongoing advocacy initiatives and streamline AVRBC's communications. She will also put in place an overall Marketing Plan for AVRBC to increase awareness of AVRBC and its mission within the sector and among potential members. Continuing on the Board are:
